November: Winter Glamour

Like many people, I sometimes find November to be a miserable month. The vibrant colours of autumn have disappeared, the days are short and the weather is cold and wet. You may be thinking this isn’t the best time for a wedding, but by embracing the dark evenings and injecting some vibrant wintry colours I’ve created a design this month that’s chic, warm and glamorous.

  • November: Winter Glamour

The Design

This month’s board is all about chasing away the winter blues with an elegant evening soiree and a warm colour palette of purple, teal and grape. I imagine this wedding to take place in the city, with the ceremony being held at dusk and candles filling the room to create a romantic and ethereal atmosphere.

This board is centred around glamour and sophistication, and fashion would play an important role in adding to the elegance of the celebration. I love the idea of the bride turning heads with a breathtaking designer dress, and would ask guests to complement the theme by wearing black tie. I’d keep the decor simple and unfussy, but would incorporate dramatic centrepieces in shades of purple to provide a focal point and add the wow factor.

On arrival I’d serve hot toddies and canapés, and would hire a jazz band to provide background music. I imagine guests to dance the night away to the sounds of a swing band, and would use atmospheric lighting in shades of purple and teal to create a funkier atmosphere. I’d also have a separate casino room and cocktail bar manned by theatrical mixologists, and of course no November wedding would be complete without a grand firework display to round things off!

Hmm, maybe November isn’t so bad after all…
