The Design
June is one my favourite months, being packed with typically ‘English’ events such as Royal Ascot and Wimbledon and bringing the start of the strawberry picking season (yum yum!).
For this board I’ve opted for a strong colour palette of bright red, which I’ve toned down by blending in hints of softer pinks. The splashes of white in the bridesmaid dresses, flowers and cake not only reflect the ‘cream’ part of the board, but help to prevent the bold colours from becoming too overpowering.
I imagine this wedding to be quite relaxed, with an emphasis on fun and an abandonment of many of the formal wedding traditions. For decorations I’d use small floral arrangements on tables, and would predominantly incorporate colours through the use of carefully chosen table linens and china. I’d serve traditional seasonal food, and naturally dessert would be strawberries and cream…now where’s my spoon?!
