The Details
This traditional wedding was filled with lots of personal touches that made for a very special and emotional celebration. The ceremony was held at the bride’s family church, the vicar having married the bride’s sister 12 months previously, after which guests were transported by coach to the heart of Mayfair for an elegant reception.
Despite a terrible weather forecast, the rain held off so that guests could enjoy champagne, Pimm’s and a selection of delicious canapes in the private courtyard, whilst the bride and groom made the most of the stunning original architectural features for their photos.
The silver and white colour scheme was perfectly complemented by the pale blue decor of the dining room, and two feature fireplaces decorated with individual floral stems provided striking focal points at either end of the room. Individual miniature wedding cakes with exquisite iced detailing that matched the lace of the bride’s wedding gown were provided for guests to take home as favours at the end of the evening.
A contemporary jazz pianist entertained guests during dinner on the venue’s baby grand piano, and after some heartfelt and emotional speeches a surprise candy buffet was unveiled, which certainly proved a hit with the guests! A 6-piece band kept guests on the dance floor with a mix of soul, Motown and disco floor-fillers, and at the end of the evening the coach returned to transport guests home.
