Mood Board Monday #26 – Winter Pastels

Pastel colours are very popular for spring and summer weddings, but they are often overlooked in winter in favour of more vibrant tones. However, I think these delicate shades are the perfect complement for this time of year, and are an excellent way of injecting warmth into a refreshing white colour scheme. So today I’ve used pastel shades of blue, purple and pink to create an elegant, wintry wedding design.

For this board I wanted to use pastel colours to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that both complements and contrasts the frosty winter scenery. So I’ve used pale blue to reflect the wintry season, but have incorporated soft shades of lavender and pink to prevent the overall design from feeling too cold.

I see this being a very chic and sophisticated wedding set in a luxurious urban space. I imagine guests being served cocktails and canapés whilst entertained by a jazz trio, before enjoying a sumptuous wedding breakfast by candlelight.

I would keep the decor very simple and elegant, with predominantly white flowers interspersed with subtle hints of pink and lavender, and instead of a wedding cake I would love to see a tower of individual desserts. For the evening I imagine the celebration to be more interactive than just dancing, with cocktail mixologists and a mini casino providing additional entertainment.
