  • A Nice Cup of Tea…

Anyone that knows me will tell you one of my favourite pastimes is, in the words of Nicey and Wifey , to have a “nice cup of tea and a sit down”! This is how I start every working day after taking Mr HCW to the train station and walking the dog, how I accompany my spreadsheet and list making, and how I wind down at the end of the day, usually snuggled up in bed with a cookie or two on the side. If you add in clotted cream scones alongside you’ve pretty much got my idea of heaven!

So after much diary checking and at least three re-schedules, I was very happy last week to finally be making my way into London for afternoon tea with my very good friend and fellow wedding planner Andri, for an afternoon of wedding chat, gossip, brainstorming and plenty of giggling – bliss!

  • Photo Shoot at 58 Princes Gate

Just before Christmas I was approached by Elodie, the marketing executive of a new London wedding venue, to assist with an upcoming photo shoot for their wedding brochure and website. 58 Princes Gate is owned and managed by Imperial College London, and is a beautiful Edwardian building that is tucked away in the heart of South Kensington. It already successfully hosts corporate meetings, seminars and private dinners, but this year is looking to open its doors to brides and grooms who are looking for an exclusive and intimate central London venue.

I recently visited Nonsuch Mansion in Surrey , just 25 minutes from central London , and could not resist sharing it with you. There aren’t many venues that I completely fall in love with, but this is definitely one of them and I can’t wait for the opportunity to plan a wedding here.

Just over a week ago I headed into London for the UKAWP networking event, where 50 wedding planners (there are more of us than you think!) got together to catch up with old friends, meet new faces, share stories, swap advice and generally have a good old chat about weddings!

The venue for this event was the stunning 30 Pavilion Road , a truly beautiful character hotel tucked away in the heart of Knightsbridge. If you’re looking for a central London wedding venue with heaps of character and history, as well as a very personal feel, then this could very well be the place for you.

Last month we looked at how to start researching prospective wedding venues, and the main things to look for on an initial viewing (see the full post here ). Today we’re going to look in more detail at the questions you may want to ask of a prospective venue, as well as how to understand venue charges and avoid any unexpected extra fees.

My husband and I have just had a lovely couple of days away as a wedding anniversary treat at the beautiful Lythe Hill Hotel and Spa in Surrey . Now whilst I was there to relax and enjoy myself, my wedding brain just couldn’t resist taking in all the details, and what a stunning setting for a wedding it would be.

Yesterday I attended the annual UKAWP members meeting, held at the uber-luxurious Lanesborough Hotel in London’s Knightsbridge. A gorgeous hotel with opulent decor and an enviable setting overlooking Hyde Park, this is the perfect setting for a wedding with style.

On Saturday evening I attended a wedding reception at Cooling Castle Barn and as usual my ‘wedding brain’ was in overdrive! The whole event was very stylish, and I was particularly taken with the venue, which literally did take my breath away. Set in the middle of the Kent countryside just north of Rochester, Cooling Castle Barn is made up of three barns with exclusive use for the entire wedding day as standard.
