Real Wedding – Emily & Tim

You may remember that just before Christmas I posted a sneak peek of Emily and Tim’s beautiful winter wedding in central London. Well we’ve just received some professional photos from Neil Luxford who covered the day’s events, and I just could not wait any longer to share them with you!
As Tim is a captain in the Welsh Guards, the wedding was held at Wellington Barracks, just next to Buckingham Palace. Around 170 guests were present to witness Emily and Tim exchange their vows in the beautiful Guard’s chapel, and although Tim himself was not in uniform (apparently the Welsh Guards don’t want to upstage the bride!), a guard of honour was waiting to meet Emily as she arrived with her father.
It was incredibly cold on the day (at least -4C!) and Emily did well to survive the arctic air for some outdoor photographs in her beautiful strapless dress (which, incidentally, was made by her mum, along with the bridesmaids’ dresses). After the ceremony guests made their way across the parade ground to the warmth of the Officer’s Mess for some welcome champagne and canapés.
The reception was held in a marquee in the grounds of the barracks, and the seasonal decorations were the perfect complement to the military blue decor. The gorgeous floral arrangements were provided by Martin Roberts at the Flower Shop , with centrepieces of holly, white roses, eucalyptus and fir adding a real Christmassy feel to the setting.
Emily and Tim made all of their own wedding stationery, and decorated menus and place cards with red baubles tied with stripy ribbon. I love how they named their tables after places that had special meaning to them. There was certainly an eclectic mix with locations from all around the world – the top table was called Weobley Castle, which was where Tim proposed!
Thanks to Neil Luxford for sharing these photos, and many congratulations to Emily and Tim – we wish you all the best for your future together as husband and wife.
.
Some kind words from Emily I thought I’d share with you:
“I knew I could count on you come rain (or snow!) or shine, which was extremely reassuring. Your service was seamless and very professional, and alleviated a lot of concern in the days leading up to the wedding. I loved what you had done to the marquee – you really ‘got’ what I wanted, so a massive thank you!”
.
Emily originally got in touch with me because she was worried about who would decorate the marquee on her wedding day. If you’re feeling anxious about whether your wedding venue will look exactly as you envisaged on the day, please do check out our venue decoration service, or contact us directly to discuss your requirements.
