Great article; very informative and I am sure you have persuaded more brides to have wedding receptions in marquees!
One point I wished to make was that the acoustic in a marquee differs from being in a conventional building. If, for example, you have a string quartet playing in a room, the sound will bounce off the walls. This doesn’t happen in marquees. So carefully consider where to locate the musicians – particularly acoustic instruments, to ensure your guests are able to enjoy the music by hearing it! Some musicians are not experienced in setting sound levels in marquees, so I would recommend the best man or a trusted member of your ‘team’, such as a wedding planner, monitors this so that the volume can be adjusted if necessary. Sound levels are different when guests are in the marquee!
