Wedding Planner Top Tip – Avoid a Cake Collapse

If you’re having a mixture of sponge and fruit cakes for your wedding cake, make sure that the fruit layer is used for the bottom tier(s). Fruit cake is heavy, and you risk your cake collapsing completely if you try and stack it on top of sponge layers.

  1. That’s a good tip that I’ll be sure to remember. My sister’s wedding is coming up and I know for sure they want fruit cake. A couple of years back there was a disaster with my aunt’s cake for her second wedding. If her dress getting ripped wasn’t bad enough!
