London Wedding Planner

A few weeks ago I featured a sneak peek of Katherine and Nic’s spring wedding that we organised at the end of May in central London , and today I’m pleased to be able to share a full report and some more gorgeous photos from photographers Katharine and Ken of Peachey Photography .

Katherine and Nic’s family and friends travelled from the United States, Belgium and Cyprus to attend the celebrations, and with Katherine originally coming from America there were lots of Anglo-American touches that made the day truly personal and unique. The day started with preparations for the ladies at The Rookery Hotel in Clerkenwell, before black cabs drove them the short distance to St James’ Church…

One of my favourite florists Liz Inigo Jones of Blue Sky Flowers provided all the flowers for the day, including a beautiful pastel pink bridal bouquet and some of the biggest peonies I have ever seen!

In true American style the bridesmaids walked down the aisle first, looking stunning in their magenta satin dresses…

…whilst Katherine looked simply radiant in an ivory silk gown that was embellished with pearls…

The CK gospel choir accompanied the ceremony and proved a huge hit with the guests, particularly their rousing rendition of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ for the recessional.

After the ceremony the guests walked round the corner to The Larder restaurant for the reception, which made for some great city shots. Katherine and Nic also took the opportunity to stop off at the bar where they had their first date to celebrate becoming Mr and Mrs…

Guests were welcomed to the reception with a selection of delicious canapés and were entertained by the Colibri string quartet , whose arrangements of Katherine’s favourite bluegrass songs went down a storm with the American crowd!

The Larder was decorated with dozens of candles and tealights for a truly romantic atmosphere, whilst clusters of mirrored vases of hot pink and purple flowers added a splash of colour to the contemporary rustic backdrop…

After dinner guests were treated to a fabulous dessert bar with yummy treats that included cupcakes, cheesecakes, shots of chocolate mousse and Bakewell tarts – seriously, I don’t know how I managed to resist them!

The happy couple then treated everyone to a carefully choreographed first dance to (such a beautiful song), before Nic’s father had everyone on their feet with some traditional Greek dancing.

Thank you, Katherine and Nic, for allowing me to be a part of your special day. I wish you every happiness for your future together.
