Over the last couple of weeks we’ve shown some of the photos from our vintage peach shoot , and today I’d like to introduce the lady behind the lens and the person responsible for such wonderful images, Chanelle from Segerius Bruce Photography .
I’ve known Chanelle for a couple of years now, but it’s only over the last 6 months that we’ve had the opportunity to work together more closely. She did an amazing job on our shoot, so I asked her to stop by the blog and answer a few questions…over to you Chanelle!
Tell us about you and your company
I am Chanelle, part of husband & wife team – Segerius Bruce Photography. We shoot weddings around the UK and have also had the pleasure of being flown abroad for weddings in countries including Bali, Prague, Cyprus, Mauritius and South Africa.
My background is in Graphic Design and High End Retouching for famous fashion photographer, Mario Testino. I have been running Segerius Bruce Photography for three years now and love it!
.
How would you describe your photography style?
A glamourous, atomospheric view of the wedding day with gorgeous details, photojournalistic moments mixed with a relaxed, editorial style shoot of the couple.
What sort of things do you have to think about when photographing a wedding, and how does this differ to when photographing a styled shoot?
When shooting a wedding I am constantly looking out for those real emotions. Laughter, crying, knowing looks between the couple – that sort of thing. During a shoot obviously you don’t have that same emotional vibe so it is more about creating that feeling of fun by direction of the models.
What were your favourite photos from the shoot and why?
I love the gorgeous sunny light that I found out in the courtyard at the George in Rye . I particularly like the backlit shots of Agata holding the cake, flowers and peaches. That to me is my perfect light. Summery, bright, colourful and sunkissed.
What would be your top tip to brides looking for a wedding photographer?
Ensure that you get on well with the photographer and that your personalities click. That person will be with you the entire day, from your preps in the morning through to drunken dancing antics in the evening! Look through a number of weddings, study their blog to see full wedding coverage and view a variety of album layouts to get a good feel for their style.
Thank you Chanelle for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience with us. If you want to see more of Chanelle’s gorgeous work, or find out more about her services, check out the website here . And be sure to stop by the blog again later this week, when we’ll be talking to our make-up artist from the shoot Gemma Sutton.
