Now I have to admit to not being the biggest fan of ring pillows, but I recently discovered Palomas Nest and just fell in love with their contemporary designs. They create customisable ceramic pieces, such as the Ring Bearer Bowl , that offer a stylish alternative to the traditional ring pillow. They are based in the US, but ship all over the world.

Not only would this be perfect for a modern London, but it would make a lovely keepsake afterwards as a home accessory. They also have other items that could easily be used to add subtle decorative touches, such as Text Tile tags , gold paper maché hearts and bridal bouquet charms .

I particularly love their Thank You ribbon – it’s so simple, but would be really effective pinned to a rustic favour of home made jam or tied to a potted herb.
