Mood Board Monday #2 – English Country Garden

Hope you had a lovely Bank holiday weekend. Following the recent spell of beautiful warm sunshine, today’s board is about all things English and summery. I see this as being a fairly relaxed affair, with either a country barn or garden marquee setting surrounded by large oak trees and open fields.
To reflect the garden theme I’ve opted for a soft palette of ivory, blush pink and pastel green, and have balanced the use of rustic and contemporary decorative accents to create a stylish country look. Informal arrangements of traditional English garden flowers, such as roses, sweet peas and dahlias, would provide the main source of decoration. Outside the venue I would place large pots of delicately scented herbs, such as rosemary and lavender, and at dusk I’d use small lanterns to provide soft lighting for guests to sit out and enjoy the warmth of the evening.
