If you’ve been a regular reader of our blog then you may remember that back in April I posted a feature on my favourite summer wedding gowns . Well now that summer is well and truly over I thought it was about time that I featured my favourite designs for the winter season.
There are some truly beautiful wedding dresses on offer this season, and I found it very difficult to choose only 10 to feature here! There’s definitely a big trend towards light and feminine designs with frothy fabrics like chiffon and tulle, which have an almost ethereal feel about them and are perfect for gliding down the aisle. I just adore the flattering lines and contemporary elegance of these designs.
Ruffles and layers are still prominent, and bows are also being used as decorative accents – I’m quite sure we’ll be seeing more of these throughout 2010. A significant new trend has been the introduction of colour into this season’s wedding gowns, and I am just head over heels for them! Delicate overlays and ruches of coloured chiffon, tulle and organza, like the gorgeous charcoal gown from Vera Wang shown below, are such a beautiful way of bringing colour into the day, and would be perfect for an all-white colour palette or for the bride that wants something a bit different without being too ‘out there’.
