  • Mood Board Monday #16 – Waterside Romance

There’s something about rivers and lakes that I find quite enchanting, and I just love the idea of getting married next to the water’s edge and making the most of nature’s beauty. So today’s board has water as a central theme, coupled with candlelight for added romance.

I recently spotted this fabulous turquoise and yellow bridal shower over on Style Me Pretty , and was totally inspired to apply the colour scheme to a wedding celebration. I just love the way that the two colours are so different, but yet work so well together and create a really vibrant atmosphere.

  • Mood Board Monday #14 – Autumn Harvest

Our September design concept uses a blend of green, burnt orange and yellow to reflect the changing of the seasons from summer to autumn. I’ve also incorporated a seasonal Harvest Festival sub-theme through rustic styling and the use of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Full details of the design can be seen here .

  • Mood Board Monday #13 – White Lace and Powder Blue

Up until the last 10-15 years white lace was a main form of decoration for the wedding dress and veil, and was a significant part of the wedding design. However, tulle and chiffon ruffles, soft silk flowers, diamante crystals and satin bows have led many brides to avoid this beautiful material for fear of their wedding looking old-fashioned, fussy or dated. So this week I’ve created a design board that celebrates the delicate elegance of white wedding lace, but retains a chic and contemporary style.

One of my favourite wedding blogs is Abby Larson’s Style Me Pretty , which is jam-packed with gorgeous weddings and design inspiration. If you haven’t already, make sure you pay it a visit, but be sure to allow plenty of time because you will end up swooning at all the beautiful details!

Abby’s recently added a fantastic new feature called the “ Style Circle ”, which includes a tool where you can create your own wedding design boards. I use Photoshop for all of my design concepts, but as not every bride has access to this software (or indeed the patience to use it!) I thought I’d check it out, and here are the results…

  • Mood Board Monday #12 – Antique Gold and Blush Pink

On Wednesday I will be celebrating my third wedding anniversary. Apparently this is the year we become aware of the durability of our relationship, which is why leather is the traditional gift (personally I’d be happy with flowers or chocolates, but there we go!) .

Anyway, I thought it would be nice to create a design board based on my original wedding colour scheme of pale gold with subtle hints of soft pink. Whilst I had a traditional wedding, I’ve decided to incorporate a vintage feel into today’s design.

  • Mood Board Monday #11 – Heather and Blue

I was looking through my design boards last week, and noticed that most of them use palettes of greens, pinks and yellows. So, I decided to balance things up by creating a board using shades of purple and blue.

We’re taking things nice and leisurely this week after the wedding of the lovely Christine and Luke at the weekend. Christine hired us for a wedding day management service only a week ago, and on Sunday we were at the Royal Chace Hotel in Enfield to make sure everything went smoothly. We’ll have photos and a full report from the day in a couple of weeks, but today I wanted to share our new design concept of grey, pink and purple. (more…)

  • Mood Board Monday #8 – Ice Cream Sundae

I first had the inspiration for this design concept a couple of weeks ago during the heat wave when trying to keep cool with ice lollies and ice cream! It’s a very relaxed board that would be ideal for couples looking for something quirky and informal, and is all about having fun in the sun.

  • Mood Board Monday #7 – Apple Green and White

Check out our new July design concept . After the recent heatwave I wanted to create a board that celebrated summer and had a refreshing feel, without the traditional ‘hot’ summer colours like reds, pinks and yellows. Hence a rustic outdoor setting, lots of understated details and a fresh apple green colour scheme.

We’ve had a few bright and colourful boards recently, so I feel it’s time for something more subtle and understated. I don’t know whether it’s because I’ve been land-locked my entire life, but I just love visiting the seaside. I could sit for hours just staring out to sea and listening to the waves lapping against the shore, and I think it’s a beautiful setting for a wedding reception.
