Mood Board Monday #6 – Sea Spray Chic

We’ve had a few bright and colourful boards recently, so I feel it’s time for something more subtle and understated. I don’t know whether it’s because I’ve been land-locked my entire life, but I just love visiting the seaside. I could sit for hours just staring out to sea and listening to the waves lapping against the shore, and I think it’s a beautiful setting for a wedding reception.
Now a beach theme doesn’t have to be about shells and buckets and spades – this design concept is all about chic, understated elegance by the sea. Rather than the obvious choice of blue as a colour scheme, I’ve opted for a calm palette of ivory, grey and soft sea green to reflect the oceanic hues. Subtle hints of the seaside theme are incorporated with pebble place names, miniature ‘buckets’ of flowers and shell hearts, whilst the bouquets and wedding gown have a ‘frothy’ sea-foam feel about them. I hope you like…I could just go paddling right now!
